Happy Thursday! It’s officially October which means it’s time to really think about your Halloween costume.
Today, I’ve compiled some creators that I think have been sharing great costume inspo. Under the paywall, I have my own niche suggestions. Subscribe to the Yapper tier so you don’t miss it.

I love Halloweekend because it allows me to put together more than one costume. After fierce discourse over hyperspecific pop cultural costumes last year, I’m noticing a return to the basics online this time around. I’ve seen quite a few suggestions for quirky takes on classic Halloween characters such as animals, clowns, fairytales and more. I think people are so exhausted this year that the simpler, the better.
Before we get into the creators that caught my eye with their costume ideas, I wanted to briefly note some of the most popular trends I’ve seen on TikTok. Here is what I’ve seen trending:
Beanie Babies - People have been looking up the Beanie Baby that shares their birthdays and dressing accordingly. Like a classic black cat or dog costume, becoming a Beanie Baby is super easy. All you need is a monochromatic look and some ears. Just add a DIY TY tag with your plushie’s info and you’re golden.
Aunt Gladys from Weapons - This is a fun, zeitgeisty one. Grab an orange wig and give it some baby bangs. Put on some smudged makeup and a pink jacket.
Katseye Gap Ad - Another trendy one. I’ve seen a few Katseye suggestions online, but the easiest is probably their viral Gap Denim ad. It’s great for a group of friends. Bonus points if you can do the dance!
Showgirl - With Taylor Swift’s new album coming out, this is an obvious one. Get a corset, some fishnets, and a feathery or beaded headpiece. And give ‘em the old razzle dazzle!
Now, here are some of the creators I’ve been getting inspo from.
Olivia Layne - “Basic with a Twist”
@olivialayne6 Something for the cutesy girls. They always understand my vision 🙂↕️🎃 #halloween #halloweencostume #costumeideas #halloween2025 #vintage... See more
Olivia Layne cooked with these. From circus acts to nursery rhymes, she shared some fashion-forward takes on lesser-done classics. Her suggestions are very easy to pull off and are great for groups. You don’t really have to go around explaining your costume too much, which is always a relief.
Layne also shared a fun spin on the Beanie Baby trend: Be a Webkinz! It’s a more colorful and whimsical take on a stuffed animal with countless options.
Kayla Barbie - “It Girl Halloween”
@kluhbarbie Pt 3 | I’m back with more unique Halloween costumes that are guaranteed to stand out this Halloween! Save this for your Halloween mood boa... See more
Kayla Barbie posted some unique ideas for the pop culture girlies out there. We’re getting niche but not too unrecognizable here. Her take on Barbie (which is to say, Jessica Alba as Kirsten as Malibu Barbie in Never Been Kissed) is both “if you know you know” and easily identifiable as simply a version of the doll.
Jerry Anthony - Vintage Men’s Looks
@jerry__anthony halloween will be here faster than you think! it’s time to start planning those costumes #halloween #halloweentips
Jerry Anthony delivered some stylish, simple, and vintage-inspired costumes for the men and the mascs out there. He references a lot of runway shows and 1950s photographs. Some suggestions include a milkman and a hypnotized man. Very chic and likely to get compliments!
