I’m Daysia Tolentino and I’m a journalist covering content creators, pop culture, the internet and entertainment. I most recently worked at NBC News as a culture and trends reporter. Now, I get to write about all the fun things I like in the way I want to.

Yap Year is a newsletter about the cultural touchpoints that influence us. That could include a deep dive into the niche Tumblr community you spent your youth in, an analysis on how stan Twitter is influencing our vocabularies, or thoughts on which current pop stars are serving c*nt authentically. 

Think of it as a scrapbook for the chronically online. I’m in the business of documenting the cultural memories and moments that are important to me and other Zillennials.

This newsletter will feature essays, interviews and reporting about the pop culture and internet trends that we can’t stop talking about. Some weeks, I might have a friend write about what they’ve been seeing, thinking or obsessing over lately.
